IN SEPTEMBER, on Sunday 6th, from 3pm to 4.30pm, David Sewell's annual North Laine Community Association TEA PARTY will welcome North Laine residents at the Pavilion Gardens Cafe.
Meet old friends, swap news and enjoy the view of the Royal Pavilion across the lawn. This annual get together has become a regular part of the association's calendar since it was first held in 2009. NLCA members get a free cup of tea or coffee and a slice of cake – not to be missed.

OUR popular NLCA COMEDY NIGHT returns to Komedia Studio Bar on Monday, September 28, starting at 8pm (doors open 7.30pm), with a brilliant line-up of talented stand-up comedians headlined by award-winning local comic Christian Jegard.
Fresh from Best in Class showcase at Edinburgh Fringe, he has appeared on BBC3 TV and Radio 4 Extra, his awards include audience favourite at the UK Musical Comedy Awards and runner-up as Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year.
Critics say "Such invention, witty, imaginative and different" (Chortle) and "Forensically brilliant" (BBC Radio 4 Extra).
Other acts include Charmaine Davies (pictured right), an experienced master of ceremonies and comedy night organiser, now an internet sensation with her videos parodying celebrities such as the Beckhams and Kardashians.
Acclaimed Brighton comic Richard Perry has twice been a finalist in national comedy awards. Former
criminal lawyer turned pro-comedian Anthony Ayton has been described by Mock the Week star Angela Barnes as “clever, a bit cheeky, and bloody funny”.
Martin Wratten is a former South Coast Comedian of the Year winner, and comedy website Chortle says Graeme Collard “captures the frustrations of the tired everyman.” TV comedian Joe Wilkinson calls him “very, very, very funny”.
New local act Chiff Powell has appeared at Comic Boom Comedy Club at Komedia and the Brighton Fringe.

YOU'RE WELCOME to join North Laine Community Association meetings which are normally
bi-monthly on the third Tuesday in the month, at THE FOYER in Pelham Street, opposite Pelham Square, starting at 7.30pm.
However, the SPECIAL SEPTEMBER MEETING to discuss the future of North Laine and the community association will be held at Komedia Studio Bar on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, at 7pm (see report above).
