Upcoming events

North Laine Community Association's next regular community meeting is on Tuesday, July 21 at The Foyer, Pelham Street at 7.30pm.

Come along to discuss any issues you want to raise and to hear reports on North Laine community activities.

JULY is full of exciting community events, including NLCA's acclaimed 50th anniversary exhibition which returns to the Jubilee Library in Jubilee Street for a fortnight from Monday, July 6 to Saturday, July 18. It's free – don't miss it!

There's also the Charity and Community Day in the Royal Pavilion Gardens on Saturday, July 4. Our stall will feature information on the association and have copies of our entertaining and informative new book, The Best of 50 Years of the North Laine Runner, on sale at just £10.

You can also try your luck with a dip into our famous prize tombola. (Donations of prizes are welcome, please email social@northlaineinfo).

Plus there will be NLCA merchandise celebrating this year's anniversary, such as tote bags, stickers, drinks mats and free copies of the latest North Laine Runner news magazine. Please bring cash if you are able!

The whole event, which features small local charities and community organisations who often don’t receive enough recognition, also includes the entertaining Unkempt Skiffle Band and singers from Ukraine. It is organised by former NLCA trustee Mitch Egan in association with David Sewell and the Pavilion Gardens Cafe. Come and say hello!

NLCA's annual afternoon picnic in Pelham Square takes place on Sunday, July 12. As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations we will provide a free buffet along with some drinks – but contributions will still be welcome (finger food is best) if you want to bring along something extra to share. The picnic will last from 1pm to 5pm.

Also take your own glasses, cutlery and plates, if you can, as well as seating such as rugs or picnic chairs – though there are a few benches in the square.
