Local student film project
As graduation looms, two students make a film relying on the support of those around them
By James Collins, North Laine resident
Our film
Schadenfreude is a black comedy, an anti-morality tale, about a man who finds happiness in the darkest of places. Myself (James Collins, North Laine resident) and Mike Glover are third year Media Practice and Theory students who are making our first fifteen minute dramatic short film. We are planning to film all our footage in and around Brighton during February and March.
Support in the North Laine Community
We are making this film with virtually no money. We are currently holding casting calls with actors that are interested in developing portfolios, locations that are happy to have us and equipment from the university. The support we are looking for is anyone interested in production and would like to get involved and anyone that may have an office space that can be used as it is the primary setting for our film. The North Laine is a vibrant community that would serve well as a backdrop to our drama piece. We are also raising funds through an indie film support website that can be found here www.indiegogo.com/Schadenfreude
Any help that can be given is deeply appreciated and if you are interested to learn more and want to get involved in production, then feel free to contact me at jc354@sussex.ac.uk
