Crowds of people came to enjoy 'People's Day'
Saturday 18th June 2011 in New Road and Jubilee Square
More than fifty activities from groups and communities around the city were showcased in Brighton & Hove’s biggest People’s Day festival on Saturday 18 June 2011. It took place in New Road, Pavilion Gardens, Corn Exchange, Dome Foyer, Jubilee Street, Jubilee Square and the Library. Those attending were able to try their hand at a range of different activities for free.
A wide range of activities and performances
There were ten different zones offering a wide range of activities and performances; and on a main stage in New Road and another in the Dome Foyer there was dancing and singing by different community groups in the city.
A clash with the NLCA Summer Fete
Unfortunately, this day clashed with the NLCA’s own Summer Fete not far away in City College carpark. It is to be hoped that such clashes could be avoided in future.
