Two gardens open to raise money for the Sussex Beacon
Opening across two weekends in June and July 2011, the Garden Gadabout is a great opportunity to enjoy and gather ideas from all sorts of gorgeous green spaces - from bold, stunning contemporary designs, to quiet havens of wildlife, suntraps, shady nooks and overflowing allotments, to town gardens of all shapes and sizes.
Free Garden Gadabout brochure
As well as lunches and teas, many of the gardens this year will be offering something a little bit extra to make your visit even more special. All the gardens opening feature in the free Garden Gadabout brochure, available locally or visit www.gardengadabout.org.uk to download.
Raising funds for the Sussex Beacon
The Garden Gadabout fulfils an important role in raising essential funds for the Sussex Beacon, enabling them to continue their work, meeting the changing needs of men and women living with HIV.
Two gardens in Trafalgar Terrace
This year the Gadabout includes two gardens in Trafalgar Terrace:
1. Volks House, No 3 Trafalgar Terrace (open 25 & 26 June): a peaceful paved courtyard garden in this well hidden twitten, including a host of colourful plants and flowers in troughs, pots and containers.
2. No 14 Trafalgar Terrace (open 2 & 3 July): another secret garden in this North Laine twitten, with at least 10 creatures to find. A tropical oasis with splashes of purple and pink, a fish pond and a patio tucked away.
Tickets
Entry to each garden is £2 or buy a Super Saver day ticket for £7 giving one day entry to all gardens. Buy day tickets in advance from the Dome Box Office www.brightonticketshop.com (01273 709709) or from the Sussex Beacon charity shops or from the open gardens on the day. Gardens are open from 11am-5pm.
