The train will return in 2012

On 23rd September 2010 there was a formal unveiling of a new Pullman Wall Mural in the station undercroft at the top of Trafalgar Street.

Brighton Belle will return in 2012

The Brighton Toy & Model Museum together with the 5BEL Trust are celebrating the eagerly anticipated return of a much loved Brighton icon – the world’s only all electric Pullman train – the elegant Art Deco style Brighton Belle. The 5BEL Trust’s £1 million restoration by professional railway engineers will ensure the train’s return, in Olympic year 2012, to the mainline on the 80th anniversary of its construction. The dramatic near life size mural now outside the Toy Museum depicts the train drawn up at a platform in Brighton Station and the windows of the Pullman come alive with contemporary figures from the train’s heyday.

New 'Glamour of Brighton' exhibition

Within the Museum itself a new ‘Glamour of Brighton’ exhibition depicts Brighton’s history through to the present, featuring a series of spectacular exhibits from the Museum collections and its various sponsors. This is designed to enhance the visitor experience in the Visit Brighton Official Visitor Information Point in the entrance area of the Museum.

Model trains and antique toys

Major renovations over the past year 2009/10 at the Toy & Model Museum include new showcases, spectacular new exhibits and new world class ‘green’ energy efficient museum display lighting. The Toy Museum has one of the world’s finest collections of model trains and period antique toys.
