Latest news from the NLCA

27 December

The dates for the 2012 NLCA meetings are now available via the 'NLCA meetings' page under 'Future events'. Most meetings will continue to be held on Monday evenings at Community Base in Queen's Road but note that the January and February meetings will take place on Tuesdays.

27 October

The NLCA Christmas social will take place after a very brief business meeting on 12 December at Community Base. The formal meeting will start slightly earlier than usual, at 7.15pm, and then the evening will be turned over to music, food and drink, quizzes and a raffle. Come along and meet your North Laine neighbours – 7.15 - 9.30pm.

25 October

Tickets are now available for the NLCA's first Comedy Evening to be held at Komedia on 16th November. You can get tickets for £3 at Rainbow Books, Trafalgar Street. See http://tempuri.org/tempuri.html  for further details.

7th October

An initial 3 month community composting trial is now underway in the North Laine area, with composting bins in the grounds of Brighthelm and St Peter's Church. The aim is to help residents who may not have room in their back gardens for compost boxes and to reduce the amount of food waste going to landfill. The scheme is the result of a collaboration between the NLCA (contact Paley O'Connor on paleyoconnor@hotmail.co.uk), Brighton & Hove Food Partnership (info@bhfood.org.uk) and Brighton & Hove City Council.
