Elm tree experts, May 2010
The visiting group from Europe under the Weeping Wych Elm in Pavilion Gardens
Group from Europe visits Pavilion Gardens
By David Sewell
A group of Elm tree experts from Europe (Dutch, French and Italian) were in Brighton on 14th May 2010 to look at our unique Elm collection. They visited the Royal Pavilion Gardens then went on to Preston Park and finished up in Crespin Way, Hollingdean, before going on to Kent and Portsmouth.
During their four-day trip they met with Owen Johnson (Elm Tree Register and author of Champion Trees) and Peter Bourne, Brighton based Elm tree expert. The idea was to further their combined knowledge and to learn from each other by sharing experiences.
The Pavilion Gardens Cafe was pleased to put on lunch for the group.
