The Book and the Rose Festival

This Sunday (25th April 2010) saw the second annual ‘Book and the Rose’ event in Jubilee Square in celebration of St George's Day.

The showers in the morning didn’t look good but fortunately the weather brightened up sufficiently later to ensure all had a good time!

There was a varied bill of performers, including Dan Clark, Conrad Vingoe, Foster and Gilvan, and a range of booksellers including Queenspark, City Books, Hanover Books and Myriad Editions.

Jane and Sebastian from Scent (the new florists that opened only a few months ago in Gloucester Road) were among many local traders who were happy to get into the spirit of things!
