Pelham Square, 2010
By Jackie Fuller, Secretary to Friends of Pelham Square
The revamping of Pelham Square was completed at the end of 2009, so we can now look forward to the maturing of an interesting mix of plants which will provide some colour all the year round, specially chosen to withstand the dry shady conditions. The Friends of Pelham Square were pleased to work with Brighton & Hove City Council on this project, which was well overdue, as no new planting had been undertaken for about 25 years.
In addition to the planting, the paved area has been relaid, making it less uneven and so safer for people to walk on. We hope that local residents, especially families, will use and enjoy the Square during the coming summer months and help to keep it tidy and free of litter.
