Short meeting before Christmas Social

Minutes of the last meeting on 10 November 2008

Approved.

Licensing

The Fountainhead (North Road) has applied for a licence extension into next door and to increase their hours for music and dancing. We have leafleted neighbours and will object as an association (27 voted for).

Planning

- Object to roof light to the front of 31 Queen’s Gardens (we previously objected to a similar proposal next door, which has now been withdrawn)

- No comment on applications for 12 Portland Street, 42 Gloucester Road, 42 Sydney Street and 2 Pelham Square.

Runner

Thanks to those who contributed to the last edition. More contributions invited for the next one (deadline the next meeting - 12th January 2009).

Brighton Society

Reported that planning has been refused for the demolition of the Royal Alex.

Police

Will publish local crime figures in the next Runner.

NLTA

Traders wished all residents a merry Christmas.

Social events

- Next theatre visit to “Losing Louie” on 15th January 2009.

- After thanks to all those who had provided raffle prizes, to Jackie for organising it, to Sandy for the food and to Henry and Peter for the photo quizzes, we started the Christmas Social.
