Problems with late night noise

Important to have incidents recorded

By Peter Crowhurst, NLCA Chair

If you are one of the many people in the North Laine who are woken up late at night or in the early morning by drinkers making their way through the area, you can report this anti-social behaviour to the Police by phoning 0845 6070999 and we can begin to get a picture of the level of anti-social behaviour there really is in the area.

Increase in licensed premises

At present the Police do not believe that anti-social behaviour is a problem here and consequently the number of licensed premises continues to increase, with the inevitable rise in alcohol availability and anti-social behaviour which arises from it.

Don't hesitate to ring

If you have been affected by such behaviour (and this would include having your sleep disturbed by noisy drinkers), please don't hesitate to ring the number above. It's important that these incidences get recorded, as priorities are determined on the basis of the number of calls recorded.

Evidence needed

If you don't want to get up and ring, then you can still ring the following day - but without the evidence of anti-social behaviour in our area the number of licensed premises and late night extensions will continue to escalate.
