Minutes of previous meeting
The minutes of the last meeting were approved. There were no matters arising.
Police priorities for the North Laine Local Action Team
The meeting considered possible priorities. After some discussion, it was agreed that late night anti-social behaviour had the greatest impact on residents' lives - in particular, alcohol-fuelled noise from people travelling through the area.
Our first priority was, therefore, for a reduction in such behaviour, concentrating on midnight to 3.00am on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Our second priority was increased enforcement of the 20mph speed limit and observance of the one-way system, concentrating on Trafalgar Street and the junction between Sydney Street and Gloucester Road during rush hours (8-9am and 4.30-6pm, Monday to Friday).
Our third priority was a continued concentration on cycle theft and misuse.
It was agreed to re-evaluate these priorities periodically.
Warburton Fund projects
The meeting agreed to try and achieve all five suggestions from the shorlist set out in the North Laine Runner, No 200, up to a maximum expenditure of £2000.
Joan Warburton's plaque will be replaced, on a new bench, by one to both Joan and Ted.
We will apply for Council grants towards the history trail and heritage signboard.
We will also investigate alternative sites for the signboard, including Pelham Square and the station underpass.
Environment
Licensing
A 24-hour licence was approved for "The Green Door Store" behind the station. The premises are licensed for up to 280 people.
A hearing is scheduled for "Go Local" at 93 North Road, who want to sell alcohol from 6.30am to 11pm.
Planning
The meeting agreed not to comment on the loft conversion and rear dormer at 40 Tidy Street.
The NLCA had written expressing concerns about the replacement windows and roof tiles at 24 Queen's Gardens.
