To celebrate the first anniversary of this website

Who was the first person to fly across the Channel? At what temperature are Celcius and Fahrenheit the same?  Where was the Champions League Final played this year? These are just some of the questions faced by North Lainers and friends at the NLCA Pub Quiz Supper on Thursday 10th July 2009, held to celebrate the first anniversary of this contributory website - the website of the North Laine Community Association.

Held at the Lord Nelson pub

The event was held in the conservatory room at the Lord Nelson pub in Trafalgar Street and teams of 4 or 5 pitted their wits in seven rounds of questions compiled and compered by Jackie Fuller and Peter Crowhurst.

Cash prizes

There were cash prizes for both the winning team and the one that came second, as well as some sticks of Brighton rock as a booby prize for the team that came bottom!

Buffet supper

The evening included a delicious and plentiful buffet supper prepared by Ruth Goodall and Peter Crowhurst.
