Tea Party at Pavilion Café
David Sewell, the café owner
Sunday 6th September 2009
What has now become the annual North Laine Community Association tea party at the Pavilion Café was held this year on Sunday 6th September. All residents of the North Laine area of Brighton were invited to drop by for free afternoon tea and cake in a specially dedicated area of the Café forecourt. The Adur Concert Band played on the lawn.
Anniversary in 2010
Next year, 2010, will be the 60th anniversary of the Pavilion Cafe's little art deco building and David Sewell, the owner, is planning a programme of events to celebrate this landmark year. The building was designed by a student from Brighton Art College as a result of a competition and David would like to find out his or her name and to obtain any copies of drawings or plans that still exist.
Does anyone have any information about this important piece of Brighton history? If so, please contact David at the Café or through the Café's website at: www.paviliongardenscafe.co.uk
