World Naked Bike Ride hits North Laine, 13th June 2009
By Maureen Brand, North Laine resident

These photographs by Henry Bruce show participants in the World Naked Bike Ride.  Their route took them through Sydney Street, North Laine, where these photographs were taken on 13th June 2009.  Reasons given for the naked bike ride vary:  for some it is the feeling of liberation, for others a protest against oil dependency, or to show the vulnerability of the cyclist in traffic, or to draw attention to the fact that the Government's response to the credit crunch was to bail out the motor industry.
