What is the Play About?
The Little Theatre describes the play as follows:
High in the mountains of Connemara, in a dank, impoverished cottage, lives Maureen, a lonely, virgin spinster, who is trapped by her domineering, manipulative mother, Mag. Maureen's life is full of defeated hopes and missed opportunities – she dreams of romance and a fresh start. But if she leaves, who will stir the lumps out of Mag's Complan?
Blackly hilarious and full of deceptions, secrets and betrayals, The Beauty Queen of Leenane is sure to keep its audience on tenterhooks.
