Suggestions for new special interest groups
By Peter Crowhurst, NLCA Chair

The NLCA has a very successful theatre group, with up to a dozen local residents going together to the theatre once a month but is there a demand in the North Laine for any other social club?

Play reading?

We have an offer to organise a 'play reading in a pub' group. The idea is that the group would read through scripts as if they were preparing to put the play on in a theatre. Is anyone interested in this?

Cards?

We used to have a card group that met once a month in a community hall. The games played varied each month according to the wishes of the group. Any takers?

Running?

I have noticed a number of runners/joggers in the North Laine area. We do have an experienced runner who is willing to organise a communal training run once a week and, who knows, maybe a North Laine team in local events? Often runners benefit from training together and discussing how their running is going. Rather than doing all your training by yourself, a North Laine running group could make your running more enjoyable.

Gardening?

A suggestion that came out of the January 2009 community meeting was for a gardening group to meet and discuss how to improve our small gardens.

Any offers or suggestions?

If you would like to take part in any of the above groups, or have an idea for another group, please contact me at: chair@nlcaonline.org.uk
