17th August 2008
By Francis Clark-Lowes, North Laine resident

It was a bit chilly, but dry, as around a dozen of us gathered in Pelham Square on 17th August 2008 for the annual NLCA picnic. Some sat on chairs, others on blankets on the ground, and food and drink was shared among us in true communal spirit. We were competing with the Beach Down Festival and, no doubt, with lots of people's holidays, otherwise numbers would certainly have been greater, but our smaller group was more intimate, and a good time was had by all.
