A children's trail in Gloucester Road

By Maureen Brand, North Laine resident

Here is a trail to follow down Gloucester Road, just off Queen's Road, in North Laine.  Start at the top (it's easier to walk downhill!) and using the clues and the photographs below walk to the bottom of the hill answering each question in turn.  You will find the answers are in the same order as the clues.

Print this page and follow the clues.  Where can you find:

1.     '1868' carved high.  Where?

2.     The North Laine sign hangs on the wall.  Where?  (Hint: it's quite a picture!)

3.     A strong 'S' - Over there!

4.     A plaster pattern Over where?

5.     Where will you find this datestone posted up?

6.     Any sign where this is hanging about?

7.     What's afoot here, what is it, and where?

8.     Where does the sun shine?

9.     Who has his tongue out?  (Hint: a Tidy step)

10.    Seek the beak!

11.    Get a head, metal style.  Where?

12.    Bricks being grilled.  Where?

13.    A metal 'T', quite modern.  Where?

14.    A wooden 'T', or so it looks, quite old.  Where?

15.    The big 'E'.  Where?

16.    A pattern in another Passage?

17.    Seek the griffin - where?

18.    Not the place to deliver a sofa!  Where?
