Parents' Network
A support group for local parents with young children
The Parents' Network was set up in 2006 and continues to grow quietly. It was set up at a time when there were a large number of parents with young children; indeed in Tidy Street alone there were 15 babies and young children.
The Network is loose and aims to be unpressurised, using e-mail to raise issues affecting parents. Such issues have included nurseries, childminders and local traders. They are discussed at meetings which take place about once a month. The Network has not only helped parents to deal with important issues but has also helped to generate new friendships and babysitting exchanges.
