This is a photographic print of Whitecross Street, Brighton. It is a view of the west side of the street in which numerous parked cars can be seen. This photograph was commissioned by the Environmental Health department of Brighton Borough Council. It formed part of a visual record of areas considered for slum clearance. Whitecross Street ran between Trafalgar Street and Cheapside. Much of it was demolished in 1962.
