This is a photographic print of Over Street, Brighton. It is a view along a section of the street, showing the drainage grates in front of the front window of each house. A billboard advertising White Label whiskey is visible at the end of the street.
This photograph was commissioned by the Environmental Health department of Brighton Borough Council. It formed part of a visual record of areas considered for slum clearance.
