A brief history
By Peter Crowhurst, North Laine resident
Frederick Gardens is a twitten of houses built in the 1820s, linking Gloucester Road to North Road. Nowadays it is overshadowed by the Post Office sorting office and appears rather dark as a result. The fronts of the houses have changed little and you get a very good feeling for what the North Laine would have been like many years ago.
