A seaside theme

By the Over Street team

On Sunday 16th September 2012 Over Street held their sixth street party.  A bouncy castle on a seaside theme closed the end of the street. There were games galore, pavement art, a slow bicycle race and a barbecue of delicious sausages and burgers from the Brighton Sausage Company.

Window dressing competition

The Window Dressing Competition on a seaside theme was won by the team at No 12 with a splendid ‘End of the Pier’ montage.   The competition was again judged by Vicky of Paint Pots, who kindly donated her fee for designing the trophy tile to The Martlets hospice.

Money raised for The Martlets

The air was filled with music, first from the Umbrella Men band and then from Richard Hadfield.  Home-made cakes and competitions raised £108.18 for The Martlets.   Turn Beautiful donated £200 of prizes and three local pubs kindly donated bottles of wine.

Party supporters

The party was again made possible by the generosity of Nick Gorton of North Laine Financial Management, Terry Thomsen, Vine Street Decorators and other residents.   Very many thanks to them and to all those who attended the planning meetings, baked the cakes, and gave their time on the day to make the party possible.
