By Jackie Fuller, North Laine resident

Some of the Pelham Square residents thought it was about time they had the equivalent of a street party, so Emma and Dan Brandenburger put a note through everyone’s door and the tea party duly took place on the afternoon of Saturday 21st July. No street closure was necessary of course.

A tea tent, bunting and games

A tea tent was erected in the Square, bunting was hung from the trees, rugs and children’s games were put out and residents brought along delicious cakes and scones and some savouries too. People came and went throughout the afternoon and it was all very social and informal.

Maybe an annual event?

Thanks to Emma and Dan for organising it, including the tea urn, mugs and plates along with everything else. Maybe it will now become an annual event…
