At the turn of the 20th century there was a thriving orthodox Jewish community living in central Brighton.

This photo from the James Gray Collection (Regency Society) shows the kosher butchers at No 20 Bond Street in 1908.

None left

Today there are no kosher butchers in the whole of Brighton & Hove and those still requiring kosher meat have to order special deliveries from London.
