A neglected alleyway transformed

On 4th December 2015 Brighthelm Church and Community Centre in North Road held a launch event to celebrate its new Brighthelm Mural.

Designed by SoS

In early 2015 it had awarded street artist SoS a Community First Grant to transform its neglected alleyway into a beautiful piece of community art. She was chosen because of her inspiring and beautiful designs and for the way in which she incorporated themes of the community and sustainability into her work, linking it all together.  SoS worked with a team of volunteers throughout the project to created what Brighthelm believes is the largest mural ever created by a woman in Brighton.

The launch event

At the launch event there were behind the scenes photographs, displays and talks from the mural artist herself.
