Results of a children's competition, 2014

During May 2014 some new banners appeared in Bond Street. They were the result of a children’s competition designed to dress the city for the Festival and the summer season.

The competition, run by Brighton’s Business Improvement District (BID), asked the city's youngsters to dream up a poster that completed the phrase "Brighton is brilliant because..."

Hundreds of entries flooded in and 121 winners were chosen to adorn banners in the city centre from May through to September, celebrating all that is brilliant about Brighton.  Western Road, North Street, Market Place and Preston Street were also included in the scheme as well as Bond Street.

Some of the pictures from the banners in Bond Street, from the Bond Street side, are shown on the right. Well done to the young artists.
