Competition open to all children and young people living in North Laine

As part of North Laine’s 40th anniversary celebrations, the NLCA is organising an art competition for children and young people.


Children and young people currently or recently resident in North Laine are invited to submit drawings, paintings, pictures or designs on the theme of ‘Living in North Laine, Brighton’.

Using the winning art

We aim to use the winning art on posters and cards publicising North Laine and the work of the NLCA.

The prizes

There will be cash or token prizes for the winners in each age range, plus other fabulous prizes for the runners up.

Different age groups

You are invited to submit in the following age groups:

0 – 7 years (prize = £20)

8 – 12 years (prize = £30)

13 – 18 years (prize = £40)

Submissions can be put through my door – 36 Tidy Street – or scanned and emailed to Remember to include name, age, contact details (address, phone number and/or email).


The judging panel includes Jane Fox, Senior Lecturer in Art at the University of Brighton


Deadline is June 19th 2016.  So get drawing!
